I’m not a very seasoned traveler, but on several occasions, I’ve been to San Diego.  At the time of these trips, I was living in Maine, so it was quite a long haul from home!  I went to see family there, and had a wonderful time.  We of course visited the San Diego Zoo—a must see, and did a side trip to Disneyland.  On one trip, I spent a good part of the summer with my aunt and uncle, and part of this was at a beach house, and I spent long days on the San Diego beach, enjoying the waves and the perfect weather.  It felt like it was a long, long way from Maine—another beautiful state, but a totally different kind of beauty.

Three years ago we had a fire in our home. In the middle of the night we woke up to the sound of a smoke alarm only to find that our kitchen was on fire. The fire department responded very quickly but unfortunately it was to late, most of our home was completely destroyed by the time the blaze was under control. It was later confirmed to be a electrical fire. All I can say it thank God for the fire safe safe that my husband had installed a few months earlier. If not for that we would have lost all our valuable documents, family pictures and home videos. I would recommend that if you do not have a fire safe that you should get one. It was really worth it for us and will be for you too.

My shopping spree

General Comments Off

If I had a thousand dollars to spend, but it had to be spent at just one store, I think I’d pick Gap Kids.  I love to dress my daughter up in cute, well-made clothes, but as she gets older, it’s more and more expensive to do so.  My daughter is autistic, so it’s especially important to me that she look nice, because she often acts oddly, and I don’t want to add to this by her looking out of place also.  Gap clothes are trendy enough so she would look sharp, but not sleazy looking as so many kids clothes are.  They have a lot of nice basics, and I could stock up in lots of sizes.  It would be a truly enjoyable spree!

My job history

General Comments Off

I’ve worked at several different jobs, ranging from the mundane to the interesting.  I’ve been a dishwasher, a babysitter, a nanny, a newspaper clipper, a researcher and an IRS customer service rep.  I I think I’d have to say I liked being a nanny best.  I loved the kids I took care of, and the family I worked for treated me with respect and made me feel at home.  I got the job soon after moving to a new state, and I was feeling lost when I started it, but after a year working there, I felt like part of the community.  The job made me realize I wanted kids of my own, which I now have!

My Dream Vacation

General Comments Off

If I could travel anywhere in the world for a vacation, I’d go to Olympia, Washington.  I’ve been there once before, as it’s where almost all my extended family lives.  I felt instantly at home there, as if I’d somehow been there many times before.  I loved the feel of the city—the casual, hippie kind of feeling.  I loved the weather—never hot and never cold.  I loved the funky restaurants, and the weird little shops, and I loved being with my family to see it all.  I’m not sure I’d want to live there, due to all the rain, but I certainly would love to visit there again.

Whenever I meet a new friend or colleague, they always say that their first impression is that I am a shy and quiet type of person. But what they don’t know is that I am really an outgoing and fun to be with person. Only a handful of my friends knew of that fact since I am not very sociable with most people. I carefully select my friends and see to it that they will be worth the company. These close friends of mine sometimes are shocked to know me as an outgoing and fun person as opposed to their first impression that I am very timid.

When I was younger, I auditioned to become a TV actor and I was given a few extra roles. Back then, I was so conscious on how I look, I always check my face in the mirror and admire my eyes, which I considered my biggest asset. Many people told me that I have a sexy eyes and that it was my best physical feature. I believe them, of course, and I know for a fact that my wife fell in love with those, too. Anyway, now that I’m older, I still look once in a while and see if I still have the same charisma as when I was younger.

We have a unique payroll system here in my current work. Well, unique here in our country at least. It is because the usual payroll in the Philippines was every 15th and the 30th of the month while here in my current job, we receive our payroll every other Wednesday. So, that’s what I’m really looking forward to. Every time that I go to work, I will check the calendar and count how many days will it be before the next Wednesday, our scheduled pay day. I always have the feeling that it was almost our payroll again every time I do so.

The fire hose

Main Posts Comments Off

I am tired of being pushed into the fire hose reel. It is starting to annoy me. I seem to be constantly the victim of bullying. At work, the bullying is often done by the same person who seems to resent me. I feel completely unattractive when she is around. She is thin and has the most beautiful blonde hair. I would do anything to look like her. She gets all the guys. She constantly ignores me and if she sees me in the staircase she often pushes me out of the way, as if I am some useless object. I really can not stand arrogance.

Being a father and all, I feel obliged to spend time with my family every time that I don’t have work. And rightly so, because my daughter really needs the attention and the discipline from me as her father. So, last weekend, that’s exactly what I did. I spend my time playing with my daughter and telling her stories about the Bible. I also brought her to a religious meeting so that she’ll grow up to be a kind and religious girl. So far, my efforts are paying off as she was more inclined to obey rather than to rebel. I hope she stays that way.
